Nurses have been known to identify patients as 'problem patients.' Unfortunately, this is true and, we, as consumers, mgiht ask, what exactly is a 'problem patient?'  In my eyes, I do not see any patient as a problem patient. The patient might have problems, but is not a problem. The nurse needs to look at the patient, as a whole, and understand exactly what the patient is experiencing, not only physically, but emotionally.  Let me add, there are wonderful, kind, caring nurses in the world, however, it is reality that one that is not in this category will cross our path one day.

Several times, in my vast career, I heard a nurse call a patient a 'problem patient' just because the patient was asking alot of questions. HELLO... it is our body and we have the right to ask what you are doing.......

advocates 4 delivery of quality patient care is devoted to increasing awareness in consumers, as well as health care professionals in order to decrease medical errors. It is imperative that we, as consumers, are aware of what is good patient care. This is the only way that we can ensure we will be taken care of appropriately.

Just because a nurse is nice, does not mean he/she is a good nurse with good skills and guality delivery of patient care..

Don’t see me as a problem....

See me as being frightened ...

Don’t see me as a problem...

See me as being scared.......

Don’t see me as a problem......

See me as wanting you to care......

I see you at the nurses desk.........

Do you see me, in my bed............

I see you at the nurses desk.........

Do you know I am alone..........

I see you at the nurses desk........

Do you know I need you.........

I see you at the nurses desk........

Do you know I am calling for you........

I see you at the nurses desk........

I need you, why don’t you come to my room......

I see you at the nurses desk........

Do you know I need your help..........

Please stop your conversation............

Can’t you see my nurse’s light is on..........

Please come and help..............

I feel that you are ignoring me........

Please stop talking...........

I need you, now.......

I am afraid........

My loved one is ill...

What will happen.....

My loved one is ill

Must I be still........

My loved one is ill......

Hear me talk

My loved one is ill.....

I need a kind hand...

To lead me through......

Someone to trust....

To lead me through.......

I need your kind words......

To lead me through......

When I need you...........

To lead me through.........

I need you to be there.........

To lead me through...

My needs are important...

Don’t see me as annoying......

I need your help, now and often............

Don’t see me as annoying .........

I need you to address (our) my concerns...

Don’t see me as annoying .......

Put yourself in my shoes.......

Don’t see me as annoying ...

Make me your ally not foe......

Don’t see me as annoying .....

Be there for me

Don’t see me as annoying........

It is hard to see a loved one ill...

Do you understand........

It is painful to see a loved one ill....

Do you understand...

It is upsetting for our family

Do you understand....

It is overwhelming to think I might lose a loved one....

Do you understand........

It is a feeling of helplessness........

Do you understand........

I need you to be there for me.........

Do you understand.........

Please take time to explain to me.........

All that I need to know........

Fear is overwhelming..........

Frightening thoughts and feelings............

Tender kindness goes a long way.........

We entered, feeling uneasy.......

The nurse greeted us, hand held out.............

Caring and kind...................

Frightened we were........

A new experience

About to begin.........

Please don’t leave us alone,

Be there for us.........

I see in your eyes,

You have distanced yourself from your job

I see it in your eyes..........

You care but detachment is apparent............

That scares me.............

Will you still give me good care........

You eyes make me feel scared..............

I want to see kindness and care

I don’t understand the language you speak........

It is a foreign tongue to me........

But you talk to the other nurses, in front of me.......

Are you talking about me........

That scares me..............

Maybe you don’t want me to know.........

Am I very ill..........

Am I going to die.........

Why are you speaking, so I don’t understand...........

It is not the same language I speak........

Are you talking about me.......

Do you not want me to know something is wrong?

Please be there for me.........

And treat all my needs............

I want you to remember...............

You could be me one day...
